Jia Cherng is a graduate from the University of Nottingham Malaysia and did his Final Year Project with MEME in 2022. He joined MEME right after graduation and in 2024, started his Master of Research in Environmental and Geographical Science, looking at the adaptation of elephant movement within human-managed landscape. He also works as MEME field coordinator, focusing on the coordination of field-related work in the state of Johor which includes camera trapping, engaging with stakeholders on the ground and elephant tracking.
