Co-investigator of MEME
Ms. Vanitha Ponnusamy is trained in Sociology and Human Resource Management. She is currently a co-investigator in the Management & Ecology of Malaysian Elephants (MEME) which is based at the University of Nottingham of Malaysia. She also teaches Organizational Management in her capacity as an Assistant Professor in the Nottingham University Business School. She uses her background to conduct cross disciplinary work with tropical megafauna biologists on elephant conservation in Malaysia. Her recent research involves perception studies on Human Elephant Conflict and the use of electric fences as a mitigation measure. Currently she is actively doing talks and awareness activities of elephant conservation under MEME. Her PhD is on sustainability in organizations. In her free time Vanitha enjoys travelling and volunteering with underprivileged children.
